A Verified Account proves that you are a genuine member of your neighbourhood, as identified by your unique mobile number. It deters people who try to misuse the service by creating multiple accounts to harass others with profanity or obscene messages that ruin the community-building spirit that WhoLivesNearYou is trying very hard to create. Offenders will be banned and refused membership indefinitely.

You need to have either a valid scratch code or a post-paid mobile phone. You can only own a single WhoLivesNearYou account with your mobile phone line (prepaid cards not accepted)

As a Verified member, you can:

• start a conversation with people in your area who are currently online
• see how close (the distance) you are from your neighbours
• view photos of your friends and neighbhours
• be notified of new people who have moved in near you
• roam your friends' neighbourhood
• keep track of where your friends live and be notified of their location changes
• enjoy occasional discounts from fashion outlets and boutiques located near you by opting to receive our free SMS coupons ..and much more!

With effect from 16th April 2008, verification is now FREE. (Excluding the cost of you sending the initial verification SMS command.)

There is no longer a requirement to terminate your subscription as it is no longer a recurring bill.
